PDF Facts

The PDF is 30 Years Old

Adobe created the PDF format in 1993. The goal was simple: a file that looks exactly the same on every computer, printer, and operating system. Today, over 3 trillion PDFs exist in the world.

Why 300 DPI Matters

When converting images to PDF for print, 300 DPI is the magic number. At 300 DPI, a standard A4 page fits exactly 2480×3508 pixels. Any lower and text edges start looking fuzzy under a magnifying glass.

JPEG Inside PDF

Most image-based PDFs simply wrap JPEG data inside a PDF container without re-encoding. That means converting an image to PDF usually does not lose quality — it is just putting a label on the box.
Pro Tip: Use "Original Size" mode for photos you plan to print professionally. Standard page sizes (A4, Letter) scale your images and may crop edges unexpectedly.
All processing happens in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server.
