Frame Sequencing

Images are combined in the order you arrange them. Each image becomes one frame in the animation. Reorder by dragging up and down in the list.

Adaptive Palette

GIF is limited to 256 colors. The palettegen filter analyzes all frames to build an optimal color table, then paletteuse dithers each frame to minimize banding.

Frame Timing

Frame rate controls how long each image is displayed. At 5 FPS, each frame lasts 200ms. At 10 FPS, 100ms. Lower FPS = smaller file but choppier animation.
Pro Tip: For smooth animations, use at least 8-10 FPS. For file-size critical uses like email signatures, 3-5 FPS is usually fine.
